These are pictures taken on the Reservoir Trail which is about half a mile form my house. It goes around the Arlington Reservoir, and is about 1 mile long. I have been doing most of my runs here lately, as I recover from Baystate, and absolutely love it.
Running is going well. I will finish this week with 60 miles, mostly easy. I did have some fun at the track with some super fast (for me) 30 and 45 secs repeats. And today I ran 14 hard and hilly (and fast, for me) miles in the morning, and 4 slug miles on trails in the afternoon. I am loving doubles, by the way. I know that running 14 +4 is not the same as running 18, but for me right now this is a safer way to build mileage back up, and also much easier mentally.
On a different but related note, I found out that I was not the only parent who got a call that her kid was misbehaving at chess. On Thursday evening ALL the parents who normally take off, were sitting nicely on chairs observing their kids. I ended up going for a run because I had talked to the teacher about my bribery plan with Petru, and we both agreed to give it a shot. It worked! Petru was an angel. As soon as we got there he placed himself 2 sits away from this little girl who apparently got him in trouble last week by kissing and hugging him to much. "I had to tickle her mom, she would not stop". Oh, how things will change in a few years.
Good luck to all the 5K racers this weekend. Run HARD, the pain is short lived:)

I used to think it was wrong to bribe kids, and then I had two. I love bribery.
Great mileage for you post-Baystate! I'm finding myself a little slow going post-Cape Cod. I'm sure I'll find my mojo again soon.
I am so glad you are going to try to do more photo posting. I agree- it is a pain in the ___, but :) it certainly enhances the blog! I like to see your photos and really like to see where other people run. I use the old fashioned method of exporting my pics to a file and then uploading-- don't blog by phone at all though.
You are doing some fantastic running- 14+4 is a hard day!
That's pretty funny about Petru- and the little girl. Yes...won't be long and things will change. :)
I love your pictures, to keep them coming! I think pictures makes the blog post a lot more interesting, as we get to sort of know what you're talking about better.
Glad Petru was an angel last week at chess....one day, he's gonna love that girl hugging and kissing him! :)
Can I just pack up and move onto your couch so I can run there!! I love seeing pictures of where people run! I'm like a blogging idiot. Old style with pictures and I don't even know how to change the font size or color in my post text. No help!
You should have posted a pic of your hot skinny body and cute haircut, not just your shoes:):)
Yes, 14 fast is right!! So great to see your legs performing so well!!!! I have yet to do the LR double! Anxious to try it!
Laughing at the chess situation:). Ok- back to a hockey game!
you can get the ap Blogpres and set it up so you can blog right from your phone and add pictures. Or through blogger.com you can set up an email address so you can blog by email. The subject of the email is the blog title and you can include pictures and a write up. You can't really pick where the picture goes in the write up and only one pic per post. the Blogpress ap is pretty good though.
Yay for Petru! Poor kid being harassed by a girl. ;) The Blogger iPhone app is free and you can post pictures directly from your phone. That's probably the quickest method and easiest method.
...it's not bribery, it's positive reinforcement!!
Anyhow, thanks for checking out my blog and your kind words about today's race.
Sorry I keep missing your posts. I'm trying to keep the computer off for a lot of the day and I miss most of the posts that pop up on the blog roll. Must make a note to visit your blog specifically or get your posts via e-mail. Love your pictures. Such a wonderful place you have to run! And great job on the mileage and the hard 14! I'm so excited to follow your training for Boston...you seem to only get better and better and although the PR's won't be as big as they used to, I'm certain you are not nearly done with them...even the big ones. So great about the chess bribery too! Well done Mom! Sounds like a win, win win situation. And if that many parents are having to sit in, sounds like a management problem to me...just from a teacher's perspective. :) Oh, and I'm loving the doubles too. Although my mileage isn't as high as some that do doubles, it really has been nice. I did an easy three this morning in my garage on my new TM and then at nap time/quiet time, I fit in another 6 (last part some random fartleks)...it was awesome time management! Left the morning open to take Samuel to the children's museum while Naomi was in preschool. AND, another time management piece (not that this has anything to do with your blog post...just rambling now) is that I can watch youtube videos about marathon nutrition, etc. while I'm running so not as much research/reading later on. Score. But not as nice as your trails there pretty lady. And man, if you got a new haircut, I want to see a PICTURE of that!! Send me one! please. If I'm going to recognize you in Boston, I really need to start seeing more pictures of AM! xo
Bribery works with kids! I definitely use it with my kids. www.dashingdiva.net
There is a phoe app for blogger that allows you to easily upload pictures, but I'm not sure what the limitations are. I never used it and now I'm on wordpress.
Also, you should download Windows Live Writer. It's totally changed the ease of which I can add pictures. It takes a little time to work with but once you do, it will save you oodles of time and headaches. And I for one would LOVE to see more pictures! So go do it! You wont regret it.
I'm glad your bribery was successful :)
Nice shoes BTW, my favorite also!
