A taste of things to come

My typical Monday includes running, biking and work.

I typically run early in the morning, and bike in the afternoon.

Except that today it rained hard, and at 5 am I decided to bike first, in hopes that the rain would go away. I biked for 1:45 min, with some big chain intervals and some sets of high RPM. By the time I was done, the rain was gone. Then I realized I still had some time and I could actually do my run, too. Except that I had 5X2000m @ HM/10k pace and I did not know how my legs would react. But I gave it a try. And all was well. I did the intervals @ 10K pace, and managed to do the last .25 of each interval @ 5K pace or better. Pretty happy with that! Maybe I am going to run off the bike better than last year?

Recovery tights on and off to work. Legs screamed at me for a bit, but now they feel pretty good.
Except that I am really tired!

We have been skimping on sleep over here, and we decided to go to bed @ 10 pm every night this week, except Wednesday and Sunday when Chris goes out to watch sports with friends and wakes me up when he returns bc he can't wait until morning to tell me the interesting happenings of basketball. Will see how that goes!

In other news I am working on getting excited about switching gears to tri training. I am surprisingly not nervous about my half in 2 weeks. If I do get nervous, I'll just read Jenn's email again:)

5x2k at 10k pace and better! Maybe it is time to adjust your 10k pace:))) Just kidding. It's incredible.
You are really a great inspiration. You know that you inspired me to give triathlon a try. I have been hesitating for almost 10 years and have not had guts to stop just running. Then I saw that you can both run and do triathlon fast, so I thought to myself, that maybe I can do the same! And then in summer after I did that 60miles on bike followed by a run after I read about it on your blog and I wanted to know whether I can do it as well, I was hooked.

That's some workout and after biking too! You're in such great shape! I can't wait to see how the HM goes for you in two weeks (because I imagine you will be crazy fast).

I can feel your confidence-not cockiness but confidence! Such a great place to be at and you SO deserve to be there!!!!

I am seriously amazed at what you can do off the bike. I really know nothing about biking other than if you move your feet on the pedals, the wheels go round-ha! I did bike a lot after my injury though and I would have had a HELL of a time running that type of workout after a 1:45 ride!!! Ha-I have a hell of a time trying to do that kind of workout without the ride!!! Awesome!!

Recovery tights-I finally joined the masses with this and I'm actually believing it does some good:)

You are gonna SMOKE that half....I'm just excited for this whole season for you! PR's up the ying yang!!

I try to get to bed before 10p all the time, but it always ends up being a huge FAIL.

Are you nervous and/or excited to switch to your tri-training, that should mean a big increase. I get nervous before I start marathon training.

I would have had all kinds of mental anguish over that! Definitely a good "test" though, as well as workout obviously :) Good luck with the curfew... Who wouldn't want to hear all about basketball?!?
