Last weekend Chris took a video of me swimming in Lake Dunmore. I was swimming relaxed, but it looks so slow to me. I have no clue how my form is. Thoughts?
Thanks so much to all who answered my tri questions! So, so helpful! Looks like I have lot of work ( and purchases) ahead! Thanks again!!!

Looks good to me (or at least a lot better than my avoid-an-anxiety-attack-swim last weekend in the 70.3!)
Your turnover doesn't look particularly slow to me. Perhaps works on extension (being long through each stroke) would make you feel that you are moving more swiftly. Maybe if we get together for an open water swim together I could try to show you what I mean. Then again I haven't done a swim with a wetsuit so I'm not sure how easy full extension is with a thick layer of neoprene :-)
Cool video! I am not the person to ask for instruction:) You look like you are going nice and steady to me. Wow, the lake looks calm and very pretty. Nice job!
Hey! Funny how we both posted a geeky swim video of ourselves. lol. You look good swimming to me but what do I know!
Gosh it's really hard to tell anything specific about your stroke b/c it's so far away. My gut is saying that you're swimming 'flat'... it doesn't appear that your body is rotating side to side too much (which it should be). Side rotation like that will also allow you to extend your reach out front and get more pull on the front end. Looks like your head is down though which is good. All in all, it doesn't not appear that you have bad form, though surely there are a few tweaks to be made to increase your efficiency. :)
It's a little hard to tell from so far away but you look good to me (I used to swim competitively in college :) ). From what I hear about tri's, swimming isn't really where you make time, but it is important to not drown :).
You're kind of farm, but you look good to me. Besides, i am the last one who should be critiquing anyone's swim.
cool to post your video. I think it would help best if chris video taped you in a lap pool. That way you can get a front and side view of your stroke for ~2 laps. That's been helpful for me the few times i've done it
Hey girl. First, happy anniversary. Not sure when it is, but in case I miss it. I've been gone forever. I'm not abuout the blog anymore. I've totally lost inerest and it just seems like work instead of an outlet now. Are you on facebook? I would love to find you to keep in touch, just in case. I'll still keep reading your blog though :)
Second, I'm so glad your tailbone is better. Third, your HIM looks exaclty like mine! I feel better knowing someone else picked such a challenging course for thier first! Every day I look at the elevation chart and I go - ok, time to go out for a ride. At least the next one will feel like a pice of cake :)Fourth, it's hard to see anything from so far away - but you do look very relaxed wich is exaclty where you want to be in the open water. You didn't know about wetsuits?! If you did, you might not have worked as hard on yoru swim so it's probably better you didn't :)
if your on facebook find me - kristen barrett
So was he paddling and taping at the same time? : )
It was hard to see really well, but you do look nice and relaxed, which is a good thing. You are so lucky to have a nice lake to swim in!!
