Is BAA messing with our heads?
Yesterday I got an email with "tips for running in the heat", which freaked me out and made me think that they know something I don't; the forecast has been showing cool temps for April 19th for a while now, so why would they send something about hot temps?
Today they sent another email with "tips for running in the cold", which made me feel much better; they are only trying to cover their bases, I guess.
Still, why oh why BAA would you play with our already tormented psyches? Don't you know what we are already going through with the endorphin withdrawal?
Moving on....
I am not reading everything possible about the course (just 10 min daily:)
I am not checking the temps obsessively (just once or twice every day)
I am not carboloading.
I still have not picked out my outfit; I would like not to wear black again, but there is something so bad ass about wearing all black, so "I am all business and don't mess with me" that I might just go for that look again.
I am reading the Dara Torres biography. Oh, such beautiful writing! After being left sad by reading about Agassi's life, this is so refreshing. You'd think the book would motivate me to swim (and you'd be correct, it does - kick a$$ swim session today), but it motivates me to run. fast. fast!
I have ordered my pace tat. 3:20, I am going to chase you!
I am sleeping any chance I get!
I am going to wear my Nike Frees.
And what am I doing with the extra free time? Planning my training for Vermont Half Ironman!!!

When I did it a few yrs. ago we had the nor'easter. They constantly sent us "alerts" about the conditions, hypothermia, etc. I guess it's all about CYA for the BAA!
The countdown is on...GOOD LUCK!!
so the dane book is a good read ????
1. Don't worry about the temp. You can't control the weather and it's going to be cool anyway, I promise.
2. Wear black. Black is awesome.
3. I like the fact that you are getting the 3:20 tat. You can do it!
I would for sure go with the bad ass look!! I am telling you...you would scare the shit out of me:) I am so excited for you!! You are going to do awesome!
All the Hawaii runners are talking about how cold it will be.
I just stumbled on your blog tonight. I just ran my first half marathon this weekend.... but you are the real deal! Truly a runner....I'm still just pretending! ha!
So nice to meet you. Swing by my blog and see the running post that I did today if you have a minute!
Blessings, Jennifer
I thought it was too late to order my tat, last year I was SOOOO ready. I guess I'll just make a copy and tape it up, so grass-roots, right?
I'm not checking temps nor making an decisions about my clothes...it totally depends on the weather!
See you soon!
sheesh they ARE messing with you!!
i like black too, i just splash some color in with a hat or something :) my black shirt is my lucky PR one!
Good to know about daras boo. I'll have to get that one. :)
Stick with your plan! You're going to be just fiiiiine.
The week before Boston is crazy! I'm so excited for all the blog runners I know out there, and feeling crazy that I'm missing all the fun! I'm dieing to hear how everyone does.
Oh, do you think you'll post your bib number so we can follow you through the race on Monday?
Dara Torres. Checking that book out asap.
All black = all badass.
Great list of what you're doing and not. Keeping my fingers crossed for good weather for all of you. Love that your brain is already thinking of that IM!
you can't control the weather, just go with it! i finally got around to the all black thing myself! 3:20!!! i can't wait to track you Monday.
yeah for a half ironman!!! :) Is that the Vermont Journey you're thinking of?
Can't wait to cheer you on next week...
I always go for the black when I really want to be a bad ass. :)~!!
Oh I cannot wait to read Dara's book. I too was sad about Agassi, but i kinda "get" his life and the sadness is more for his childhood and not so much for him NOW. Steffi rocks.
Oh, was this comment about running or tennis:)?
Good luck, you are gonna be bad ass no matter what you wear!
i was very confused by the polar opposite weather emails too! i haven't been checking the weather for the weekend though. i am hoping for mild, and so far it seems like it will be good weather monday!
ok now I am paranoid because I haven't been getting the emails and now I am wondering what other emails I missed. I love black if I need a long sleeve I may be in all black too.
That's way a lot of NOT doing!
I think you are right on though
Now if you can just shut off the brain...that would be sweet!
I just saw your comment on Julie's blog, and wanted to swing by and wish you luck in Boston!! I have some friends running too, hope you have a great race!
I have been wondering about the Dara Torres book- thanks for that nugget!
You are fast, you are strong, you are ready, you will do great! :)
