3:40:15, not a PR, but a course PR by 4 min and change. I'll take it. I am not disapointed, but proud I forced myself to finish! The Nike frees and I will have to have a talk, though:)

Not what I hoped for....
I have never imagined that a little blister would stop me from running, but it did. It was the toughest race I have ever ran. I had to run the last half of the race on my heel, which made the downhills nearly impossible. A report to follow.

omg OUCH!!!! i was tracking you all morning and knew something had to be up. CONGRATS on toughing it out on a very rough day and holding your head high :) cant wait for the full report, recover well.
that is nasty !! of course i am the type that wants to see what happens when you pop it...
congrats on pushing through. i thought of you all morning long, tracking you and others on the website.
Ouch, ouch, ouch! That must have sucked to be running with that for so long! Way to tough it out. Course PR too? Woohoo! I think you did a great job! Rest and recover!
So sorry! I know you must be disappointed. You were totally on track with your training to rock it the way you wanted. But--pat yourself on the back for being one tough lady. You stuck it out. And many people would kill for your time! Congrats.
I'd say that's more than a little blister. OUCH!
lol. You crack me up. I can't believe you had to finish like that. How aweful. You're a tough runner. Congrats!!
OUCH! That looks nasty. Congrats on finishing and the course PB. Sorry you didn't reach your goal. The race looked amazing on TV - even from 10,000M away. Look forward to a race report in due course. Rest up, take care. Paul :-)
HOOOLLLY COW OUCH!! Way to finish!
That is about the worst blister I have ever seen. So sorry. You still had a GREAT time, though. Excited to read the full report.
oh. my. gosh. Did you realize how bad it would be before you took off your sneaker?? Your foot must have been on fire! I'm sorry you didn't reach your goal, but your time sounds pretty amazing considering!
Hi Ana Maria,
I am so sorry about that flipping blister:( Even though it turned out not to be what you had hoped for, I am still so proud of you!! Congrats on a course PR!! You had a final time that so many would dream to have:) You are a rock star in my book!! I can't wait to hear your recap!
Um, OUCH!! Isn't it always some crazy little thing like that? Irritating to be derailed by something like a blister. :( Way to power though in what must have been a good amount of pain!
OUCH. It happens to the best of us. Or at least those of us who take a chance wearing racing flats for 26.2 miles!
Nicly done! Congratulations. Can't wait for the full report. Rest up and stay off those poor feet.
I was tracking you and a few others. I knew something was up. For although 3:40 is awesome, I knew you were good to be running much faster. Still amazing in my book though. With all the Boston mania, I've been thinking about the next marathon I can run to hopefully qualify for Boston 2012, which will be on my birthday. Maybe if I'm ever fast again we can do some training runs together.
Great job today!
Hey there!
I was tracking you and all the bloggy peeps. so fun to do so.
and OUCH! that blister looks awful!!
looking forward to your race report. hope you're having a blast!!
OH MY OUCH!! Congrats on a stellar time despite that painful looking toe! Put those feet up!
ohhhh my goodness! that is ridiculously huge - like a 6th toe! i can only imagine how painful that was to keep pushing through.
congrats on the 3:40... i know you are capable of a sub-3:20 - your training was amazing! stupid blisters.
Ana dear, CONGRATULATION!! you finish marathon, the only one I know from our family who did this!!! As a matter of fact I don't know anybody who run in Boston marathon....This is not a little blister, looks infected! Tell me you went to a doctor, who can take of you. love ILI+RADU
Okay, not the most attractive! But an amazing race that's for sure. You did it, congrats!!! Hugs
