...I've had a fall!
Half a mile into my trail run this morning my R foot got stuck under a rock (darn you forefoot strike!) and I proceeded to fall face down. I managed to stop myself a bit with my hands and arms, but my legs got the best of it. I was a bit worried about an infection (the wounds were covered with dirt and I had no water with me) and Chris offered to pee on them, which made me laugh because a scene from my favorite TV show "Girls" popped in my mind. We skipped the pee on the wounds (in case you were wondering) and kept running. We ended up having a great run and I stopped trying to push the pace so that we could beat our time from the previous week (we did not, but my HR was 8 beats lower!) AND let Chris lead (not easy for moi!).

Nasty nasty nasty! Ouch! I can't tell what body part that top one is but regardless it looks awful! You definitely need to make someone baby you tonight!!
OUch! That looks worse than my bike fall. Take care.
That is the other knee Jenn:)
OUCH! I've had 3 falls this summer (2 @ trial; 1 @ sidewalk) so recognize that that's going to leave a mark :( Hope it's not too painful.
Don't you kind of love that it's not just our kids who get skinned knees? I came off my bike a while ago and was secretly pleased with the scratched up face, arms, legs, pride! Hope it heals quickly!
OUCH!
I hate that feeling when you hit the ground...
OUCH! That looks nasty! Touch wood - I've never fallen while running! Impressed that you got back up again, so sad you didn't try the peeing on the wound solution. I'd really like to know how that works ;)
Trail falls can be very nasty. Take care!
OUCH! this is why I love asphalt so much.....
OK...and we are going to go on this trail??
Looks pretty bad! I laughed too at your solution, but it probably would work. And STING.
I hope you are mending up well. You don't need any unscheduled vacations from running!
Very cool about your HR being lower by 8 points. That's a pretty big boost. :)
that's quite the scrape! hope it's not infected and healing well.
OUCH! Hope you have an up to date tetanus shot!
Holy cow! That was a good one! (Hope it's all better now.) Sounds like Chris has been running with you a lot lately. Is he thinking about training for something too? ;)
