Bullet point random thoughts

This is a 5 minute bullet point ramble. It has been a while.

* I am back to running strong and loving it. 85 miles planned for the week, with 74 of road running and 10 miles of elliptical running; 4 doubles. No rest days. Love it!
* Longest run in a while for me tomorrow: 16 miles. Excited!
* I am feeling the effect of the strength I have done for the past 3 months. My legs are powerful.
* I started to jump rope. I used to be very good at this as a kid. Now, not so much!
* My son's kindergarten class has been doing yoga for over a month now. He can now do sun salutations, among other more basic poses, as well as use "flower breaths" when he gets upset. I think this is amazing!
* Why was it so easy for me to do all these flips on the monkey bars or on a pole as a kid, and now doing one regular pull up is so hard?
* Do you ever habituate to your kid's performances/events, such that you are able to attend them without a pit in your stomach?
* Have you tried these shoes? They have been around for a while and I have no idea why I have not tried them until now.

* They are amazing! 6.5 ounces but feel as comfortable as the 7.5 ounces Kinvaras. And so beautiful!

* Hope everyone is having a great weekend! We are off to Portland Maine tomorrow for a little getaway. The weather is absolutely gorgeous right now and spring is in the air! My brain is on a running high!

I can't do a pullup so easily either! I used to do cherry-drops and all sorts of other tricks. But I think my lower half got heavier.

78 miles with no rest! You are an ANIMAL. I guess I should get a jump rope if that's your secret :)

How awesome that your son found a healthy way to transfer his feelings. Love that!

They are out of my size in that color of the Green Silence. boo!

Have a great time on your getaway!!

Wow 85 miles!!!! I can't do a pull up and it just reminds me how terribly weak I am

@Raina - Yes, the problem must be the bigger lower half...Also, most of those miles are easy, no crazy T or R runs like you:) The Green Silences rock!

@mamarunsbarefoot - I ran my first marathon in 2009 on 30 miles average...85 miles seemed overwhelming. It can be done, it can be done, it can be done:)

Just came to the blog world to write a post and mention the Green Silence too! I just posted on facebook about them too...ran in them for the first time for my threshold run and really liked them. They felt good! And look good. I have the blue ones. Honestly though, they feel slightly uncomfortable with the way the tongue presses against the top of my foot but didn't feel this when I ran. Really cool shoe.

I hope Petru's reading went well! I've been thinking of him.

Your training...wow! So glad that your coach sees what you are capable of...sounds like you guys will be a good fit. Can't wait to see where you go with this!

I think I can do a pull up still but I used to be able to do like 4 or 5 before kids. This makes me sad how much strength I have lost. When training for Boston in 2004, I'd get up there on the bar in the middle of the gym and just pump them out. jaws would drop...ha ha. but now, I'm too embarrassed to go anywhere NEAR that pull-up bar for fear of everyone laughing. ha ha.

My kids got into yoga for a bit. You know, when they get upset, I do this thing where I have them smell the flower and blow out the candle...imaginary of course but it helps them breath. :)

Hope you have a good weekend girl. So excited for you and how well your running seems to be progressing.

On my phone so bullet comment for bullet post.

Yes, you sure are running strong! SUPER week and so great to see your excitement here! LOVE this!! Best of luck to you tomorrow!

After the hundreds of hockey games I watch a year my stomach has now finally settled but playoffs start next week. Back to sitting on the edge of my seat all by myself watching and chewing my nails.....

Just got my Green Silence today. LOVE the way they look! I can't wait to try them but didn't want to wear them outside today. I need them to stay pretty for at least a week:) Have a fantastic well deserved weekend!

@ Jenn, so I guess there is no relief! You got the white Silence, so yes, they will get dirty. But oh, so pretty!

I LOVE that they are doing yoga. What a great way to teach kids the power of breath.

Those are great shoes! So glad your training is going so well! Enjoy your getaway.

I miss that "high" of marathon training. I'm currently 5k focused and I'm training hard, but it's not the same as hitting those really high mileage weeks. (will end around 57 miles this wk, but it's still not the same as marathon training) I love that feeling of accomplishment and SATISFACTION. so happy you are back and will be stronger than EVER.

What are the purple sneakers? (brand)?
I love how you relish 4 doubles, no rest days and 86 miles.
YOU ARE A GIRL after my own heart!

It's really funny to me that as adults we forget how we used to so many things that just came to us a second nature as children. www.dashingdiva.net

Nice Mileage AM!! I need to do more strength training but I can never get started b/c then my legs are too sore to do my running workouts....advice?

Maddy has not had any special events yet but I think I would be crazy nervous!
I have had two pairs of the green silence and just purchased my third. The color you pictured, those are one of the good pairs. There is one design, I think its black, the shoes fell apart at the toes quickly because of the material.

I just ordered the blue/green color...but I did love the purple too. Enjoy!

I can't do a pull-up. And it's funny b/c whenever I go to the playground with Kaylee, I am amazed at how hard the monkey bars are! They were so easy when I was a kid. Effortless really. Now it's crazy hard!

Great mileage! Sounds like you're already kicking butt!
