Moving into 2012 my goals are a bit up in the air. My muscles are still not @ 100% so I am riding the Boston train(ing) and kinda playing the waiting game. I will take the next couple of weeks to see what happens before making any decisions here.
My main goal for 2012 is to focus on strength, diet and health. As I move closer and closer to the big 40, strength will be of utmost importance if I want to keep running. I eat a very healthy diet already, but I would like to eliminate some of the unnecessary eating that we are doing over here in the evenings. This is a common goal that Chris and I have, so we will close the kitchen doors @ 9pm every night. The "health" goal refers mostly to continuing to keep an eye on my sleep and doctor check-ups (really bad about scheduling those yearly visits).

You should do a post on how/when you got into the sport of running. You.Freaking.Rock - Also, what do you think contributes the most to you staying injury free? Good luck in 2012 lady :)
Good luck this year! And I hear you on staying healthy. That's a big one for me as well.
Congrats on your strong year! You know, our recent times in all 3 races are almost identical:)
As for 2012, I think it's awesome you're focused on the fundamentals and "the process"....and those too may produce even more PRs!!
Great job in 2011! Happy New Year!
Happy, Happy New Year!! Here's to 2012!
Ana-Maria, what an incredible year! I hear so much about you from Amanda and I look forward to following your journey more closely this year! I hope you are 100% again soon! see you in Boston girl!
Happy New Year! You are one fast runner!
Yes, I would like to trade your 2011 for mine please-ha ha! I knew what a great year you had obviously but fun to see it spelled out here again!!! A PR in every race but one is AMAZING!! I also have a strong strong feeling you will break ALL of those in 2012!
My big goals for 2012 are to remember to take my calcium and to put this Retin A on my face, to get more sleep, build my body up and continually challenge it. I'm just going to hope the numbers follow. If they don't, I'll still have strong bones and look good-ha!
Ughhh-yearly checkups....don't remind me.
Happy New Year speedy legs:)
What a year AM! I remember when I started reading your blog I thought "Ahh, she's pretty compatible to me when it comes to running"...ha ha, and then you took off like crazy! HOly cow...you just redefined everything and you made me think in new ways so often. I love the presence you have in my life. Thank you. I've learned from you greatly and been inspired a ton! And made a friend. Sounds like some good goals...very grounded. Excited to see how 2012 unfolds for you. Happy New Year AM!! Can't wait to meet you.
All sounds really sensible and I would be very interested in your specific changes (beyond closing the kitchen door which is a good one!).
I think 2012 will be fabulous for you!
Good luck with your 2012 goals.
I've enjoyed following your racing in 2011, simply inspiring. I know 2012 will be full of amazing adventures too.
Happy New Year AM!
How in the WORLD did I miss this post? I did it again!! You are very sneaky...
Yes, you had a FABULOUS year, AM. I know you wear that marathon PR badge with pride, because even if you didn't beat the calculator, you worked your BUTT off for it. I am SO looking forward to what you have ahead for 2012. It will be an AWESOME year for you. So glad to get chances to see your training..such a hard & smart worker you are.
Closing the kitchen at 9 would be hard for me, but I get it. Might be able to do it too, if I shift my eating around a bit.
Cheers to you for 2012!!
You had such a great year! I'm drooling over your half and full times!
I need to work on my diet. I eat healthy in the spring and summer, but when it gets cold I seem to eat nothing but crap. Grrrr.
